Thanks for commenting, Barbara. Circa 1865 in Albany, N.Y. Laura Towne’s brother gifted the bell to her for her school building and sent it to her by water. Laura paid to have the bell tower made from her own funds. When I first came to Penn Center in 2004, the bell was sitting on the floor of the Bailey Museum. I volunteered to build a a 2/3rds scale of the tower for Laura’s bell true to the original.
Workmanship is very particular. We’re was the Bell made? What year did it ring!
