ABOUT

I finally have gotten ’round to creating a Web site for myself,

Shawneeonline.blog. This came about from my rejection by Artfinder, an “upscale” (that should have put me off at the getgo), London based online art dealer. I was spooked into the idea of selling some of my art still in my possession by shaky personal finances. I really don’t want to part with my work. Artfinder gave me a critique of my submission for the price of applying, my pieces were priced too high, I don’t have a “consistent style”, but the main reason, I am unmarketable because I don’t have “an online presence”. I licked my wounds for a couple of days, second rejection in as many years, Princeton fellowship last year, and then I set about giving myself an online presence, a Web page.

So, the Web page, WordPress recommends an “About Page”. Introspection. I wrote up a page with an eye on the upscale market for my stuff and immediately felt sullied, all commerce corrupts. So,

…this is an invitation to look over something of sixty years, there about, of my work, a thousand poems, two music theater plays, a hundred or so images of paintings, countless drawings, a couple of dozen sculptures, a link to my original music on SoundCloud, so on.

So,

Good thoughts,
